Launch dreamweaver
and configure local site information as
below. The information that goes here is
not crucial to uploading your website, it
mainly to organise things on your computer.
Next: Click on OK after entering the information
, proceed to configure remote host.
Enter the information
her carefully, if you get anything wrong
on this page you will not be able to access
your ftp site.
Next: The details you need to enter are
on the login details we sent you via email.
Consult your login details and enter the
following infuriation:
Access: FTP
FTP Host: www.yourDomainName.co.uk
Host Directory: This would depend on
the hosting package you have, if you have
velnet classic hosting please leave this
space blank, for any other hosting package
please enter: ../../ this will ensure
your site is uploaded to the top folder.
Next: Click OK, you are now ready
to upload to your webspace.
Click connect at the top of dreamweaver
and you will be connected to your site.
Next: Once you are connected you will
see the folders below.
Upload your webpages to the web folder.IMPORTANT:
There are two web folders: user/yourUserNameWeb
and yourDomainName/web.
If you upload your site to the first
folder your site will be available on:
www.yourdomainName/~userName.
If you upload your pages to the second
web folder your site will be available
at: www.yourdomainname. We get a
lot of call from customers saying the
can't see the pages they have uploaded
100% of the time its because they have
uploaded their site to users/username/web
folder instead of the web folder. |
